Anzavir-R tablet is a combination drug used in antiretroviral therapy to treat HIV infections. Manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals Pvt Ltd, it is composed of two antiretroviral drugs, ritonavir, and atazanavir.

Uses

Anzavir-R Tablets are used to treat HIV-infected patients. It may also be used as post-exposure prophylaxis ( or PEP) to prevent HIV infections in cases of needlestick injury or other potential exposure.

How does the Anzavir-R Tablet work?

Anzavir-R Tablet consists of 300 mg of Atazanavir and 100 mg of Ritonavir, both of which are protease inhibitors. Protease is an essential enzyme for viruses to multiply. This medication stops the HIV viruses from multiplying by blocking their access to protease.

These cannot cure HIV infections but when combined with other antiretrovirals, these decrease the amount of HIV viruses in the body and eventually make the levels undetectable.
